Champions League: Osimhen Set for Galatasaray Return Ahead of Barcelona Clash

Victor Osimhen is expected to make his return for Galatasaray ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League encounter against Barcelona later this month.

According to reports in the Turkish media, the Nigerian striker is set to be included in Galatasaray’s starting line-up for the Champions League fixture at Rams Park on Tuesday, October 13.

Osimhen is also expected to feature in Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig match against Kasımpaşa on October 9 as part of his gradual return to competitive action.

The 27-year-old has been sidelined in recent weeks after suffering a groin injury during Galatasaray’s victory over Başakşehir last month.

The injury forced the Super Eagles forward to miss several key matches for the Turkish champions, including domestic fixtures against Kocaelispor and Trabzonspor, as well as their Champions League meeting with Sporting Lisbon.

Osimhen was also unavailable for Nigeria’s recent 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau during the international break.

His return will come as a major boost for Galatasaray, who are preparing for one of their biggest fixtures of the season against Spanish giants Barcelona.

The former Napoli striker has enjoyed another productive campaign in Turkey and remains one of Galatasaray’s most influential attacking players.

Galatasaray’s coaching staff are expected to carefully manage Osimhen’s minutes against Kasımpaşa before handing him a more prominent role in the Champions League showdown with Barcelona.

The Nigerian will be aiming to quickly regain full fitness and help Galatasaray strengthen their ambitions in both domestic and European competitions.
