The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has announced plans for its 2026 Physicians’ Week, scheduled to be held from October 18 to 24.
The week-long event will bring together medical practitioners across the state for professional discussions, knowledge sharing, networking, and other activities.
According to the 2026 Physicians’ Week Planning Committee, the event will be held under the theme, “Securing the Future of Medicine in Nigeria.”

The committee described Physicians’ Week as a major annual gathering for doctors in Rivers State, urging members of the profession and other stakeholders to participate actively in the programme.
It called on physicians to save the date and be part of the activities planned for the celebration.
The committee said further details, including the full schedule of events, would be made available at a later date.
