A viral stage moment between comedian Real Warri Pikin and singer Timaya has sparked fresh controversy after social media personality Gehgeh criticised the comedian over the incident and demanded that she delete the video within 24 hours.
The incident occurred during Timaya’s performance of his hit song, “Ukwu”, at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) festival in Dallas, Texas. Real Warri Pikin, who had earlier won the Best Stand-Up Comedian award at the event, joined Timaya on stage after he called for a woman to participate in the performance.
During the performance, Timaya lifted Real Warri Pikin off the ground, with the moment later circulating widely on social media and attracting mixed reactions from Nigerians.
Real Warri Pikin subsequently addressed the backlash, explaining that she had been backstage enjoying Timaya’s performance when he asked a woman to come on stage.
According to the comedian, she rushed onto the stage in the excitement of the moment but did not know Timaya intended to lift her. She said she became reluctant when she realised what was about to happen and even tried to decline before eventually going along with the performance.

The viral footage, however, continued to generate criticism, particularly because Real Warri Pikin is married.
Gehgeh has now joined the conversation, describing the stage interaction as a “direct attack” on the ego of the comedian’s husband.
In a video shared online, Gehgeh called on Real Warri Pikin to take down the footage and apologise to Nigerians.
“It’s a big shame. Real Warri Pikin, you need advice. I am giving you 24 hours to delete that video from your platform and apologise to Nigerians because that video is a direct attack on the ego of your husband,” Gehgeh said.
He further said he would speak on behalf of Real Warri Pikin’s husband if he chose not to address the matter himself.
“If he won’t talk, I will speak for him,” he added.
Gehgeh also referenced Timaya’s involvement in the incident, claiming that the singer would not accept a similar situation involving his own wife.
“Even the Timaya that you did that thing with on stage won’t allow anybody to touch his wife like that, and that’s one of the reasons why he is afraid of getting married,” he said.
The controversy has continued to generate reactions online, with attention now shifting to Gehgeh’s criticism and his demand for the video to be removed.
Real Warri Pikin had earlier apologised to her husband and Nigerians over the incident, saying she took responsibility for what happened.
