The Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board has provided Tai Local Government Area with a pickup truck to improve the monitoring and delivery of primary healthcare services.
The vehicle is the second pickup truck presented by the Board under an initiative aimed at strengthening healthcare supervision across Rivers State.
Degema Local Government Area was earlier presented with the first vehicle.
The Board says the programme is designed to ensure that all 23 local government areas in the state eventually receive pickup trucks to support effective supervision of primary healthcare facilities.
According to the Board, the vehicles will help health officials reach facilities more easily, especially those located in difficult-to-access communities.

It said the initiative would also strengthen routine monitoring, supervision and coordination of healthcare activities at the grassroots.
The provision of the vehicles is part of broader efforts by the RSPHCMB to improve the efficiency of primary healthcare services and ensure that residents have better access to quality medical care.
The Board reiterated its commitment to supporting local health authorities and addressing challenges that could hinder effective service delivery.
It said improved mobility for health officials would enhance their ability to identify gaps, monitor facilities, and respond more effectively to healthcare needs across communities.
The RSPHCMB assured residents that efforts would continue towards strengthening primary healthcare delivery throughout the state.
