Bonny Local Government Chairman, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has approved ₦200 million for the empowerment of 400 youths across the Local Government Area.
Under the initiative, each beneficiary will receive ₦500,000 to support their businesses, strengthen their livelihoods and promote economic independence.
Pepple announced the scheme on Sunday at the Extraordinary Congress of the Bonny Youth Federation, held at its secretariat along Asimini Bypass Road, Bonny.
The chairman said the initiative was part of his administration’s efforts to invest in youth development, build human capacity and create opportunities for young people to become self-reliant.

He stressed that empowering youths was critical to achieving sustainable development, noting that the beneficiaries would be better positioned to pursue their ambitions and contribute meaningfully to the growth of Bonny.
Pepple also pledged to donate a Hiace bus to the Bonny Youth Federation, the apex youth body in the Kingdom, to enhance its mobility and facilitate the coordination of its activities.
In his remarks, the Leader of the Bonny Youth Federation, Mr. Anthony Banigo, commended the chairman for his focus on youth empowerment and human capital development.
The congress also featured the presentation of an Award of Quality Leadership to Chairman Pepple in recognition of his leadership and performance in office.
