Bendel Insurance FC, the main switch coup ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, have formally confirmed the return of Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie.
The former club captain has rejoined “Benin Arsenals” on a 12-month deal, strengthening the team’s armor department as they prepare for their high-stakes season opener against regional opponents Warri Wolves
Bendel Insurance announced the homecoming on their official X (formerly Twitter) page on Monday afternoon, sparking wild celebrations among supporters in Edo State.
Announcing the signing of the marquee, the club shared a special promotional photo welcoming their former boss back to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

“Back to where it all began. Former Super Eagles captain and goalkeeper Amas Obasogie returns and signs a one-year deal and signs. Welcome home, Amas. The story continues,” the membership posted.
Obasogie’s return to Benin City comes after an incredibly productive year-long stint playing throughout foremost leagues in East Africa.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper left Bendel Insurance in 2024 to sign for Ethiopian Premier League side Fasil Kenema Sport Club, where he quickly adapted to worldwide football and is currently playing for Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars FC, anchoring the defense.
