The remains of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have arrived in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, for his final rites.
Family members, colleagues, friends and sympathisers gathered in the town on Monday to pay their last respects to the late actor, who died at 66 after battling stage-four cancer.
Among those present were veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko, as well as actress Ireti Osayemi.
According to the funeral programme, Hassan’s remains were taken to the Pavilion in Ilaro for a lying-in-state ceremony ahead of his burial.

Hassan, who was born in Ilaro, spent more than three decades in theatre, television and film and became one of the leading figures in the Yoruba movie industry.
His death has sparked widespread mourning across Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos State Chapter, described his death as a major loss to the creative industry, praising his contributions to Nigerian storytelling and Yoruba culture.
The Lagos State Government also expressed condolences, with the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, describing Hassan as a gifted storyteller and cultural ambassador whose legacy would continue to inspire generations of creatives.
