Niger Delta entertainer and cultural figure Asu Ekiye has announced the end of his 28-year marriage to Kunemofa Asu.
Ekiye disclosed in a public notice, describing the decision as the conclusion of a deeply personal journey marked by years of growth, experience and reflection.
According to him, the marriage officially ended a year ago, but he deliberately waited before making the development public.
He said the decision to delay the announcement was to allow himself time to gain perspective, clarity and acceptance of the personal transition.
“Some chapters, however significant and memorable, eventually come to an end,” Ekiye stated.
The entertainer said he had chosen to close the chapter with grace, gratitude and dignity while looking forward to what he described as the possibilities of a new season.
Ekiye, popularly known as “The Prince of the Niger Delta,” did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the end of the marriage.
He appealed for understanding as he begins a new chapter of his life following the dissolution of the marriage.
