Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement in principle to sign Barcelona forward Ferran Torres for a fee believed to be around €50 million (£42.7 million).
The 26-year-old Spain international was permitted to miss training this week as he worked to complete the move to the French champions.
Torres is coming off an impressive season with Barcelona, scoring 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions and helping the club secure the La Liga title.
His profile has risen further after scoring the extra-time winner against Argentina to help Spain win their second men’s World Cup this summer.

PSG, managed by former Barcelona player and coach Luis Enrique, have won the Champions League in each of the past two seasons and are strengthening their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
Torres could become the second major forward to join PSG this summer, following Maghnes Akliouche’s arrival from Monaco.
The French champions could also see Bradley Barcola leave this summer, with Liverpool reportedly interested in the forward.
Torres joined Barcelona in 2022 after spending two seasons with Manchester City. He has scored 25 goals in 65 appearances for Spain.
PSG further underlined their status among Europe’s elite on Wednesday by defeating Aston Villa 2-1 to win the UEFA Super Cup.
