Nigerian striker David Okereke is formally returning to Italian football. the 28 year old Forward, has completed a move to newly promoted Serie B side Benevento on a free transfer.
Okereke has agreed a 2-year contract with the Italian club, which includes a respectable option to make his stay longer for a third season based on performance metrics
The former Nigeria Under-23 star is set to undergo his routine medical check-up on Monday morning before putting pen to paper on his new residence.

The signing of Okereke represents a key coup for Benevento, who again secured promotion to the Serie B final season, and is actively strengthening their squad to compete for top-flight promotion.
However, Okereke ultimately chose Benevento because of their formidable retention challenge and their offensive system guaranteed a primary position.
Okereke arrives in Campania following Gaziantep FK’s closing season following a productive hostage spell in the Turkish Super League.
During his time with the “Falcons”, the Nigerian striker has showcased his medical prowess and dynamism, scoring nine goals in 29 league appearances to help the membership retain its top-flight status.
