The management of Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has reacted to the renewed controversy surrounding the Okoye family, saying the artiste will not engage in a public exchange over the ongoing dispute.
The response comes days after Peter Okoye (Mr P) accused his twin brother, Paul, and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, of misappropriating revenue generated from the Psquare music catalogue.
Peter alleged that Jude secretly created a company through which funds belonging to the legendary music group were diverted. Jude has consistently denied the allegations.
In a statement released on Thursday, Fire Department Inc., Rudeboy’s official management company, acknowledged the widespread public interest in the matter but insisted that family issues should be handled privately.
“While we understand the public interest, we believe that personal and family matters are best handled with dignity, respect, and responsibility,” the statement read.
The management added that Rudeboy would not be drawn into allegations or online debates capable of distracting him from his music career and relationship with his fans.
Instead, the statement said the singer remains focused on his latest single, “Blessed & Alive,” featuring Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, and expressed gratitude to fans for their continued support.
The management also urged supporters, media platforms and the public to avoid speculation and rely only on verified information regarding the ongoing family dispute.
