The Ahoada East Local Government Area (AELGA), Rivers State has been making serious efforts to eradicate malaria through a two-day National Malaria Elimination Training Programme meant to enhance the capabilities of health workers and other stakeholders.
The training, which was organized by the Federal Ministry of Health, was conducted at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Ahoada East Council Secretariat recently, says Moses Hamilton, the Chief Press Secretary to the AELGA .
On inspection of the progress made in the training program, the Executive Chairman of Ahoada East LGA, Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma, thanked the Federal Ministry of Health and the participants for their dedication to eradicating malaria.
“The Executive Chairman of Ahoada East LGA, Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma inspected the progress of the NATIONAL MALARIA ELIMINATION TRAINING PROGRAMME held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Ahoada East Council Secretariat,” Mr. Hamilton said.
Ochoma assured of the commitment of his administration towards any health programs that are geared towards improving the lives of the inhabitants of the local government area.
The Chairman encouraged the health workers and other stakeholders to utilize the opportunity for training.
The Chairman reiterated that continued collaboration between the government agencies, health workers, and others would still be important for the elimination of malaria in the local government area.
