Trabzonspor in for Tolu Arokodare – Turkish Super Lig side lining up a swoop for Wolves hitman with Super Eagles forward a name in their potential transfer wishlist.
Super Eagles attacker Tolu Arokodare is a target for Turkish Super Lig giants Trabzonspor who are on the market to reinforce their strike force ahead of next season.
With Wolves dropping to the Championship from the Premier League this past season, there is question marks over the future of the Nigerian forward at Molineux.
According to Turkish outlet TRT Spor, Trabzonspor have placed Arokodare on their list with Brazilian forward Felipe Augusto set for a move to Russian side Zenit.
The Black Sea Storm have Arokodare in their plans with the option to sign the 26-year-old on a loan deal to rebuild for the 2026/27 season.
Last summer, Arokodare swapped KRC Genk for Wolves but had a season to forget in his first year at the club as Wolves fought off relegation.
However, despite his side’s dismal campaign, he played 42 times in all competitions and chipped in with seven goals and two assists. He has previously been monitored by teams that require a striker to add aerial prowess, a high work rate and physique to their forward line.
A move to Trabzonspor could grant Arokodare significant playing time at an elite level in one of Europe’s strong leagues and offer a route to revitalize his career after the pain of relegation with Wolves.
Trabzonspor could do with the physicality and height that the Nigerian striker, who is a physically strong striker in terms of international football, offers them as they vie for title honours in Turkey.
No official bids have been tabled as of yet but sources close to the matter claim negotiations could speed up over the next few weeks as the Super Eagles forward’s team assess their transfer options.
As the summer window is now fully open, all eyes are on Arokodare and his decision about his future as the striker tries to remain at the top level of European football.
