According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Agabe Kaborlo, in a statement made available on Monday, the explosives have been inspected by relevant experts and found to be expired, thus requiring destruction in accordance with laid-down safety guidelines.
She explained that the exercise will be conducted with strict safety protocols to make sure there is no danger to lives and property during the exercise.
The police therefore asked the people living in Kporghor Community and members of the public not to panic should there be loud noises emanating from the exercise.
“The general public and indeed residents of Kporghor Community are hereby enjoined not to panic if they hear deafening loud sounds emanating from the exercise, as every precautionary measure has been put in place to avert any danger,” the statement said.
The order was meant to reassure the people that the EOD-CBRN experts will be in control of the process and required cooperation of the public during the entire training period.
