The Nigeria Volleyball Federation has appointed coaches for its national teams, which include the age-grade teams and beach volleyball national teams, following a comprehensive selection and screening process.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation Media and Publicity Committee Godspower Odedede made this announcement in Abuja. He said that the Nigeria Volleyball Federation is committed to making volleyball better in Nigeria.
According to him, the new coaches will work with the Senior Men and Women teams, the U-19 Boys and Girls teams, the U-17 Boys and Girls teams and the Beach Volleyball teams.
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation works with the intention to make sure that the teams are ready for competitions.
For the Senior Mens team Taiwo Oladipupo is the Head Coach, and the likes of Twevini Yohanna will assist him, also train the setters. Jonah Adamu will also assist the Head Coach to work on the team’s offense.
The Senior Womens team has a Head Coach, Elam Elishama, and Segun Abinde will assist her work on the team’s offense, while Sunday Akapson will train the setters.
Adamu Nite is the Head Coach of the U-19 mens team, having the likes of Ayo Aboderin as an assistant, who will also work on the team’s offense, and then Philip Stephen will train the setters.
Moving forward, Vincent Unogwu is the Head Coach of the U-19 Girls team, and Bukola Faremi will assist her to work on the team’s defense and Chinyere Onuoha will also assist the Head Coach work, on the team’s offense.
Sunday Yunan Akapson was appointed the Head Coach of the U-17 Girls team, while Jessica Egwuna will assist her to work on the team’s offense, and also have the likes of Kinsley Alika as the train of the setters.
Suleiman Ajeigbe was appointed Head Coach of the U-17 Boys team, and having Ibrahim Adamu as Assistant Coach I and Offensive Coordinator, while Osas Omoruyi will serve as Assistant Coach II.
Lastly, Mathieu Kayode and Felicia Amos were appointed coaches for the women’s Beach Volleyball team, and John Iwerima and Jonathan Thaj were named coaches for the men’s team.
