A football analytics supercomputer has tipped Rivers United to snatch the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title from fierce rivals Enugu Rangers on the final day of the season.
According to simulations carried out ahead of Matchday 38, the Pride of Rivers has been handed the probability and even stands better chance of winning due to their impressive home form. Notwithstanding, Enugu Rangers will have a good time to play against Ikorodu City in Lagos. Rivers United will play Katsina United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, and if they win they might get the title if Enugu Rangers doesn’t win
The supercomputer’s analysis highlighted Rivers United’s consistency at home this season as one of the major factors behind the prediction. Statistics have it that River United have not lost games in Port Harcourt and they even came back to win a game 3-2 against Wikki Tourists.
Football analyst on the other hand thinks Katsina United will have time playing against Rivers United because they really want to win the title in front of their fans. Rivers United has scored goals when it mattered and they have a lot of experienced players.
Another key factor that’ll help Rivers United is that Enugu Rangers will be making a difficult trip to Lagos to play a game against Ikorodu City in Lagos. Ikorodu City has been pinpointed as the only team that’s still battling for continental ticket. Experts suggest the Lagos-based side has enough motivation to frustrate the Flying Antelopes in front of their home fans.
Even though Enugu Rangers is one point ahead the supercomputer thinks Rivers United might still win the title because they have a game, at home. They are playing well right now. Rivers United really wants to win another Nigeria Premier Football League title, they might just do it.
