The Onne Area II Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has announced a revenue collection of N77.3 billion for April 2026, describing it as the highest monthly income recorded by the command since its establishment.
The Customs Area Controller of Onne Area II Command, PortHarcourt, Rivers State, Comptroller Aliyu Mohammed Alkali, who made this known while highlighting his achievements within the period said the achievement highlights the agency’s dedication to revenue generation, trade facilitation, and enforcement of government fiscal regulations.
According to him, the command generated a total of N258.2 billion between January and April 2026, marking a record-breaking performance in the history of the command.

Alkali also revealed several anti-smuggling successes recorded within the period. He disclosed that in February 2026, customs officers intercepted a 40-foot container falsely declared as carrying plumbing materials.
Further inspection showed that the container number had been altered in an attempt to evade customs duty payments. The seized goods had a Duty Paid Value of N185.2 million.
In another operation during the same month, officers intercepted nine 40-foot containers loaded with fabrics, carpentry tools, LED lights, solar fans, garments, and other goods valued at N1.2 billion.
The customs boss explained that the importers violated provisions of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023, through document falsification, alteration of container markings, and attempted smuggling.
