The elevation of former Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, to the prestigious rank of Professor of Medicine by the Governing Council of Pamo University of Medical Sciences has continued to attract nationwide commendations, with admirers insisting that her emergence has once again projected Rivers State positively on the national and international stage.
The development has generated excitement across Rivers State in particular and in Nigeria’s healthcare as well as academic sectors, as political leaders, medical experts, academics, traditional institutions, and civil society groups poured encomiums and described the feat as a remarkable reward for diligence, scholarship, integrity, and years of sacrificial service to the nation and humanity.
In a heartfelt reaction, former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, described the elevation as “a moment of gratitude to God Almighty and fulfillment of years of purposeful commitment
“Adaeze has always believed in excellence and service. Her elevation is not merely a title; it is evidence that consistency, sacrifice, and vision will always produce honour”, he said.
The former governor urged young Nigerians to embrace education as a pathway to leadership and National transformation.
Also lending credence, a retired Supreme Court Justice, Mary Odili, expressed gratitude to God Almighty for what she described as “divine favour and fulfillment of purpose.

Visibly emotional, Justice Odili, who is also her mother, noted that Prof. Oreh’s rise was built on dedication, humility, and compassion for humanity.
“As parents, we are deeply thankful to God Almighty. Adaeze’s achievements remind us that when hard work meets divine grace, extraordinary things happen”, she stated.
She further encouraged Nigerians, especially women and girls, to remain focused on education and personal development despite prevailing societal challenges.

Also, a former Rivers State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, described the elevation as “a proud achievement not only for the Oreh family, but for the entire Rivers State in particular and the Nigerian nation generally.
According to him, “Professor Adaeze Chidinma Oreh represents the best of our intellectual heritage.
“She has demonstrated capacity, professionalism, and visionary leadership in public service and healthcare administration,” he stated.
Johnson further noted that her accomplishment should inspire a renewed commitment toward educational excellence among Nigerian youths.
