The heartbeats of Port Harcourt music fans should be racing today following the official announcement that global Afrobeats sensation Omah Lay is bringing his “Spirit Tour” to the Garden City.
Breaking the news during the early hours of Friday, April 10, 2026, the “Holy Ghost” singer confirmed that his hometown will be a primary stop on his upcoming global run.
The announcement comes just one week after the successful release of his sophomore album, Clarity of Mind, which debuted at number one on the Nigerian streaming charts.
For fans in Rivers State, the finally moment has arrived, marking Omah Lay’s first major headlining performance in the city since his legendary Polo Club homecoming concert in early 2022.
The Spiritit Tour is named after the standout track “Water Spirit”, a song Omah Lay recently described as a tribute to his deep roots in the riverine culture of the South-South.
While specific dates for the Port Harcourt leg are still being finalized, industry insiders suggest the concert is slated for late July 2026, coinciding with the peak of the summer festival season.
Omah Lay, born Stanley Omah Didia, has often spoken about the “heavy spiritual weight” of performing before his own people in the Marine Base and beyond.
“There is a different kind of energy when I’m home,” the singer noted in a viral social media clip.
“The Spirit Tour is about bringing that energy back to where it all started.”
