The Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, in partnership with the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has supported secondary school students in Rivers State with educational iPads, financial assistance,Y and sanitary pads.
The items were presented at the Government House in Port Harcourt on behalf of the Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The presentation was made by the Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara, through the State Coordinator of the RHI, Tonye Briggs-Onyide.
Senator Tinubu said the iPads, provided by the NDDC, were designed to help junior secondary school students access digital learning materials.

She explained that the devices were preloaded with educational applications to support interactive learning.
The Wife of the President urged the beneficiary schools to ensure that the iPads were used strictly for educational purposes and not sold.
She also directed the schools to keep proper records of the distribution to ensure that the devices reached the intended students.
Some beneficiaries commended the initiative, saying the digital devices and educational applications would support both teaching and learning.
The RHI also donated more than ten thousand sanitary pads to the Rivers State Ministries of Education and Health for distribution to female students.
The initiative, tagged “Empowering School Girls Through Menstrual Health,” is aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and helping girls remain in school during their menstrual periods.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Dr Mina Ikuru, described the donation as timely, saying it would help address the stigma surrounding menstruation among schoolgirls.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Vincent Wachukwu, assured that the sanitary pads would be distributed to students, including those in rural communities.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention and pledged to use the sanitary products appropriately.
