Osimhen Set for Race Against Time as Galatasaray Target Quick Return

Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has provided an encouraging update on Victor Osimhen following his recent surgery in Istanbul.

The Nigerian striker picked up the injury during a UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield after a challenge involving Ibrahima Konaté. He was only able to complete the first half before being substituted.

After undergoing a successful operation, Özbek expressed optimism about the striker’s recovery.

“He’s doing very well and had a successful operation. We hope he can come back to play as soon as possible,” he said.

Despite the positive update, Osimhen is expected to be sidelined for at least a month — a significant blow for Galatasaray as they push for domestic success.

The 27-year-old is set to miss key fixtures, including league games against Trabzonspor, Göztepe, and Kocaelispor, as well as a cup tie against Gençlerbirliği.

However, there is hope he could return in time for the highly anticipated derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26.

For Galatasaray, Osimhen’s recovery timeline could prove crucial as they chase silverware, while fans will be eagerly waiting to see their star forward back in action.
