Shock and grief have taken over Port Harcourt’s event and entertainment scene following the tragic death of Mina Opurabo, the Chief Executive Officer of Special Bensington’s Ushers, widely known as Special B Ushers.
Mina, a familiar and respected figure in the city’s hospitality and event space, was reportedly attacked by unidentified gunmen along Peter Odili Road on the 19th of March.
She was said to be on her way to inspect an event centre for an upcoming job when the incident occurred.
According to reports, she sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the attack. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where medical personnel fought to save her life.
Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries two days later, on March 21.
Her driver and another companion who were with her at the time of the incident were said to have escaped unharmed, adding to the many unanswered questions surrounding the attack.
Mina was the driving force behind Special B Ushers, a fast-rising ushering agency that had become a recognizable name at high-profile events across Port Harcourt.
Known for her professionalism, coordination skills, and commitment to excellence, she built a brand that stood out in a highly competitive industry.
Her sudden death has left colleagues, clients, and many within the entertainment and events community in shock as the cause of death was sudden.
Tributes have continued to pour in, with many describing her as hardworking, vibrant, and deeply passionate about her craft.
As of now, authorities are said to be investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with no official statement confirming the identity or motive of the attackers.
