Fubara Launches 1-Month Empowerment Programme for women

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and his wife, Valeria Fubara, launched a one-month empowerment programme for women in the state, themed “Success Motivation.”

The initiative, implemented through the Rivers State Ministry of Women Affairs in partnership with Christ Embassy, Port Harcourt, aimed to equip women and young girls with practical skills to achieve their personal and professional goals, a statement on the state government website disclosed on Tuesday.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ihuoma Ray-Boms, expressed gratitude to the Fubaras for providing the platform to empower women across the state.

She explained that the training would be conducted in batches to accommodate as many participants as possible, with the first batch already underway and subsequent sessions scheduled to follow.

Each batch underwent a month-long intensive training at the Women’s Skills and Acquisition Hall within the ministry’s complex. At the conclusion of the programme, participants received equipment, materials, and grants to enable them to establish their own businesses and apply the skills they had acquired.

The training covered a wide range of vocational and entrepreneurial skills, including fashion design, perfume production, catering services, and graphic design.

Facilitated by Pastor Earldon Daniel of Christ Embassy Church, the programme welcomed young women interested in acquiring skills in their chosen fields.

In his opening remarks, Daniel encouraged participants to remain committed and diligent throughout the training, noting that attendance would be strictly monitored.

He assured them that seasoned professionals would provide hands-on instruction to guarantee quality training in their respective areas.
