Nollywood star Dayo Amusa has ascended to the role of Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). The appointment followed a national election conducted successfully in Benin City, Edo State.
Upon her election, Amusa conveyed deep appreciation for the responsibility entrusted to her, viewing the position as recognition of her sustained service to the organization.
“My emergence as the AGN National Vice President is a testament to my unwavering dedication, leadership qualities, and longstanding commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
“This achievement reflects the trust and confidence reposed in me by members of the guild, and I am certain that my creativity and administrative excellence will bring renewed strength to the Secretariat and elevate the guild’s operational standards,” she stated.

The actress further committed to ensuring her time in office delivers meaningful change and serves as a source of motivation for the guild’s community.
“As I take on this important national role, my tenure will be marked by transparency, innovation, and impactful service that will inspire both current and future members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,” she added.
On the other hand the AGN presidential election also held Saturday in Benin, where Rita Daniels, Regina Daniel’s mother, was defeated by Abubakar Yakubu. Yakubu, the former National Secretary, won 116 votes to Daniels’ 113, succeeding Emeka Rollas. This victory makes him the first Northern actor to lead the Guild since the 1990s.
