The Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Works, Austin Ezekiel-Hart, has urged religious bodies to continue praying for Governor Siminalayi Fubara and members of his administration.
Ezekiel-Hart made the appeal when members of the Bonny Women Prayer Network paid a courtesy visit to his office in Port Harcourt.
He said God’s grace had enabled the state government to continue executing and commissioning infrastructure projects despite the political and administrative challenges confronting the administration.
According to him, the government’s ability to sustain work on various projects despite the challenges showed that divine grace was at work in the administration.
Ezekiel-Hart cited the recently commissioned Bonny Grammar School as an example of the government’s commitment to infrastructure development. He said previous administrations had struggled to develop the school.
He urged the prayer group to continue interceding for Fubara and other members of his administration, saying their prayers would help the government seek divine guidance as it implements its projects and policies.
The permanent secretary also thanked the group for its support during the commissioning of Bonny Grammar School. He said he had considered providing buses to convey the members from Port Harcourt to Bonny but could only provide one vehicle because of his official responsibilities.
Ezekiel-Hart said his office remained open to the needs of residents but acknowledged that his official engagements, including functions at the Government House, sometimes prevented him from answering calls. He appealed to members of the public to understand his situation.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Bonny Women Prayer Network, Ilanye Jumbo, thanked Ezekiel-Hart for providing transport for the group’s journey to Bonny. Jumbo said the group would continue praying for Fubara and other members of his administration for divine protection and wisdom in governing the state.
