More Indigenes Return Home as King Asari Dislodges Sea Robbers

More coastal community dwellers within the Kalabari region of Rivers State have been returning home following the dislodgement of sea robbers by the Natural Ruler of Elem Kalabari, King Dokubo Asari.

A cross section of the residents who hail from the Cawthorne Channel axis of Kalabariland told our correspondent that prior to the installation of King Asari as amanyanabo, the fear of sea robbers especially during christmas, could not allow them to travel to their hometown.

One of the indigenes who gave his name as Tamunotonye said his kinsmen in Elem – Krakrama have assured him of safe waterways and that the era when sea pirates were making the coastal region uncomfortable for both community dwellers and other travellers is gone.

You recall that since King Asari was chosen by his people to be the Amanyanabo of Torusarama-Piri, the sea robbers who were terrorising the region have been having nightmares.

In May this year, scores of kidnapped victims were rescued by the Royal Fouche security personnel of King Asari who stormed the hideouts of the captors in a commando style that struck fear in the hearts of all the hoodlums that got the news of the rescue operation.

This year is expected to be the first time in many years that the coastal community dwellers have been returning home in droves because they now feel their waterways are safe for them to travel.

During his official recognition at Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Siminalayi Fubara charged King Asari and others to ensure they maintain peace in their domains which is an expectation, King Asari has made tremendous strides in.
