Nigeria @65: Fubara Calls for Unity

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended greetings to President Bola Tinubu and all Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

In his Independence Day message posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Fubara, on behalf of the government and the people of Rivers State offered a salute to Tinubu and Nigerians.

Marking the milestone in Nigeria’s political journey, the governor urged citizens to “continue to strive for peace and unity among Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.”

He acknowledged that providence has entrusted leaders with “the responsibility of navigating the course of the nation and initiating policies to spur development and a better life for the people.”

Fubara concluded by joining all Nigerians to “pray for peace, unity and the sustenance of democracy in our country,” and wished for “wisdom and strength to positively impact and uplift the nation.”

“As we celebrate this milestone in Nigeria’s political journey, may we continue to strive for peace and unity among Nigerians at home and in the diaspora”, Fubara added.

The Port City News earlier reported that the governor, who began the celebration of the Independence anniversary with a Juma’at service, sued for peace. He, alongside others, prayed for the progress of the state and Nigeria.

Fubara further advocated for peace and unity in Nigeria and said that without peace, the accelerated development of Nigeria will remain in limbo.

Represented by Alhaji Abdurrazaq Diepriye, he urged citizens to remain patriotic and appreciated Tinubu for restoring peace in the state.
