According to a recent report, it has been stated that Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, and Ezekiel Nathaniel will continue their quest for qualification for the Diamond League finals as they prepare to compete at the Athletissima meeting in Lausanne on August 20.

‎This event, which is the second-to-last leg of the circuit before the finale in Zurich, will provide crucial points in the standings and a final chance for athletes to refine their skills against top-tier competition.

‎Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, enters the Lausanne event ranked 10th globally, boasting a season-best time of 12.24 seconds.

‎The 27-year-old will contend with a strong field that features world number three Masai Russell from the United States, world number four Ackera Nugent from Jamaica, and Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who is ranked ninth and will enjoy the support of the local crowd.

‎Also competing is American Kendra Harrison, a former world record holder currently ranked 13th this season.

‎Amusan’s performances this year have been characterised by her consistent ability to reach finals, but Lausanne presents her with the opportunity to secure the points needed to solidify her position within the top eight of the Diamond League standings.

‎In the men’s shot put, African record holder Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will reignite his rivalry with some of the top names in the event. Currently ranked sixth in the world with a season and personal best of 22.10 meters achieved this year, Enekwechi is in excellent form and remains one of the few athletes to have exceeded the 22-meter mark this season.
