The medical staff of the Super Eagles is working hard to make sure that injured goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena and left-back Abdulrafiu Taiwo are ready for tomorrow’s game against Sudan in the African Nations Championship, which will take place in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya.
Nigeria is playing in Group D of the championship, which also has Sudan, Senegal, and Congo.
The Eagles, who are playing at home, lost 0-1 in their first game against the defending champions, Senegal, at the Amaan Stadium. They are to face Sudan in their second match tomorrow.
The loss last week put the Eagles at the bottom of Group D with no points, especially after Congo and Sudan drew 1-1.
The Eagles must win against Sudan tomorrow to advance in the tournament, but their chances are jeopardised by two injured key players who just started training yesterday.

According to reports, both players have commenced training with the rest of the team, but the coaches are worried their fitness levels may not be enough for the match against Sudan.
”Taiwo, the left back from Rivers United, got hurt during the game against Senegal, and Ozoemena, the main goalkeeper from Enyimba, is still recovering from a knee injury. Although he had been back in training, he may not be fit enough to play against Sudan,” the source said.
He also mentioned that the team started preparing for the Sudan game right after their match against Senegal. They will have a final training session tonight to decide who will be fit to play in the match.
