Popular Nollywood actress Nkechi Sunday Blessing has left fans stunned after disclosing the surprising reason behind her recent break from the movie industry. During a candid interview on the podcast Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, the outspoken actress shared an unexpected turn of events that led to her stepping away from acting.
According to Nkechi, an anonymous benefactor placed her on a staggering ₦1 million weekly salary at a time when she was struggling to make ends meet from her film roles.

“Someone anonymously put me on a ₦1 million weekly salary because I wasn’t getting paid enough for movie roles — that’s why I took a break from acting,” Nkechi revealed.
She further explained that despite her hard work in the industry, her earnings from movie projects were often meager. In some cases, even after completing a film, she would make less than ₦1 million in total profit. This made the anonymous financial support a life-changing intervention.
When the podcast host pressed for details on whether the generous donor’s identity had since been revealed, the actress shut down the question with a firm response: “It’s not your business.”
