Okujagu Ama Power Project Set for Commissioning, Says LG Administrator

The Administrator of Okrika Local Government Area, Engr. Tamunobipiboye Thompson Isodiki has assured the people of Okujagu Ama that their community will be connected to the National Grid within the next few weeks.

Isodiki gave the assurance during an unscheduled visit to the project site, where work is ongoing to erect a power transmission tower linking Okujagu Ama to the electricity supply from Port Harcourt.

The administrator said, “upon assumption of office, I saw that this project had been initiated by the previous administration. Given its critical importance to the well-being and development of the people, I made it a top priority.”

The Administrator made some key observations regarding the construction of the transmission tower and urged the contractor to ensure that the project meets the highest quality standards.

“This project, when completed, will bring development not only to Okujagu Ama but also to neighboring communities.”

Speaking on reported acts of sabotage by certain individuals in the community, he said: “Evil will not overshadow light. I urge the people to rise and stand against such elements to ensure the progress and even development of the area.”

He further emphasized the importance of timely completion, saying, “I have provided all necessary support to ensure this project is delivered as scheduled.”

In response, Engr. Femi Bipilaka, the Project Engineer for the Okujagu Ama Electricity Project, reassured the Administrator and the community that the project would be completed on time and would meet all quality standards.

In a related development, the Okrika Local Government Council has donated 30 life jackets to the Okujagu Ama Boat Drivers Association as part of efforts to enhance waterway safety.

Presenting the life jackets, Isodiki noted that the donation was made to ensure the safety of passengers traveling by boat and promised that more would be distributed in the near future.

Receiving the items on behalf of the community, Mr. Blessed Elijah, Chairman of the Community Development Committee of Okujagu Ama and Ojimba Ama, and Mr. Lassor Rogers, Vice Chairman of the Boat Drivers Association, expressed gratitude to the Administrator.

They pledged to safeguard the life jackets and use them appropriately.
