Residents of Port Harcourt will soon regain access to public water following strong support from the Port Harcourt WASH Media Network for the Port Harcourt Water Corporation (PHWC).
In a communiqué issued after its inauguration, the Network praised PHWC, under the leadership of Sir Walter Ibibia, for its efforts to restore potable water supply.
It highlighted ongoing renovation and construction of modern public water supply infrastructure in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas.
The group called on the Rivers State Government to grant the necessary approvals without delay so that operations can begin and residents can access reliable public water supply.

The Network urged Port Harcourt residents to contact PHWC for connection arrangements and prepare to join the public water system once services resume.
It also appealed to consumers to use water responsibly and protect public facilities from damage.
The five-man interim Executive Committee, headed by Mr. Samuel Olusegun, pledged to partner with PHWC on public sensitisation campaigns aimed at safeguarding the infrastructure already put in place to serve the people.
