The National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Rivers State, has held a passing-out parade for 2538 corps members, following the successful completion of the service year.
At the ceremony held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, the Scheme announced extension of service of 48 corps members made up of 28 males and 20 females as punishment.
Also, the scheme revealed that 12 others, made up of five males and seven females are to repeat the entire service year while four other corps members, according to NYSC, paid the supreme sacrifice for the fatherland.
The passing out ceremony for the 2025 Batch B Stream 11 corps members was held at the Convocation Arena of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu Orowurukwo, Port Harcourt, for corps members who served in Obio-Akpor and Port Harcourt LGA zones.
Addressing the corps members during the ceremony, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, charged them to, “do right at all times to all men and women.

“I want to also advise you all to activate fully, the skill that you learnt in the course of the service year.
“I want to also warn you to flee from the craze for get-rich-quick syndrome. I encourage you to tow the path of hard work, discipline, dignity in labor and fear of God.”
Also speaking, the Special Guest, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, who is also RSU Vice Chancellor, charged the corps members to continue to promote ethical values that will project their personal image and family name, positively.
He assured them that anyone wishing to pursue postgraduate studies will be cordially welcomed into the Rivers State University community and provided with the support needed for a smooth transition
