Two individuals are reported to have lost their lives after a deadly communal fight suspected to be caused by a dispute over land in the Rumuodogo community located in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
In the raid that was carried out last night at the Olua Rumuodogo 2 community, more than 20 armed men allegedly stormed the community, opened fire on the inhabitants, burnt down some of their houses, and took away some valuables.
The eyewitnesses said the armed men were determined to grab land owned by the community, and as a result, they caused the deadly attack in the area.

The chairman of the Community Development Committee of Olua Rumuodogo 2, identified as Sunny Beke, said that his community had been attacked heavily by the armed men.
A resident of the area, who witnessed the attack, said the armed men fired guns indiscriminately for about three hours.
He stated that both his house and personal property were burnt down by the arsonists, while he barely managed to run away from them with his wife.
The level of destruction could not be confirmed, but according to sources, some houses were burnt down during the attack.
There were also some rumors about how some people from the community were preparing for a counterattack due to the attack. But that could not be independently confirmed at the time this report was filed.
An official statement regarding this attack and fatalities was not made by the Rivers State Police Command at the time this report was filed.
