Nigerian streamer Carter Efe is facing serious heat after Babcock University accused him of forging his graduation certificate.
The drama started during a recent interview with content creator Egungun of Lagos. Carter boldly claimed he finished his studies at the elite private university, Babcock, with flying colors.
To back up his story, he went online and posted a picture of his supposed Biochemistry degree on X, boasting a “First Class Upper” finish.
There’s just one massive problem: Babcock University says the document is a total fake, as they revealed in a scathing public disclaimer dropped on social media, the institution didn’t hold back to let the public know the truth.
The school pointed out a pretty embarrassing blunder on the alleged forged certificate paper, stating that Babcock doesn’t use the term “First Class Upper” for its degrees.
Displaying a massive “FRAUD ALERT” on the post, the university made it clear they don’t give out “Honorary Certificates” for regular degree grades either. They called the paper a complete fake, told everyone to ignore it, and advised the public to always double-check credentials directly with the Registrar.
But the university isn’t just trying to clear the air, they’re involving their lawyers. Management confirmed they are actively pursuing legal action against anyone involved in forging the school’s documents. Carter Efe might have been looking for internet clout, but he may end up in a courtroom instead.
