Bayelsa APC Chairman Backs Tinubu For Second Term

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Warman Ogoriba, has declared that President Bola Tinubu is fully committed to national development and earned the right to run for a second term in office despite pushback from critics.

Speaking on Tuesday in Yenagoa, Ogoriba voiced strong confidence regarding the President’s re-election prospects, affirming that the current administration has demonstrated credible performance since taking the helm of affairs.

Addressing recent calls for the President to step down, Ogoriba categorized political opposition and demands for resignation as routine features of a democratic system.

He noted that leaders worldwide, including the President of the United States and the recently resigned Prime Minister of Britain, frequently face similar opposition pressure.

According to the state chairman, such challenges are normal in political environments and should not derail the government from fulfilling its development goals.

He noted that personal dislike often drives calls for a leader’s departure from office, but emphasized that the ruling party remains unbothered by these demands.

Instead, the focus continues to be on delivering tangible projects and ensuring that citizens reap the benefits of federal policies.

Ogoriba welcomed constructive criticism as a healthy part of politics, advising observers to highlight both areas of achievement and areas needing correction.

The APC leader stated that the impact of the President’s programs is beginning to resonate with the public, which he believes will secure massive electoral support during future polls.

He downplayed any perceived growth in opposition strength within Bayelsa State, pointing out that the APC chooses to focus on its own strategic mobilization and governance milestones rather than discussing rival political platforms.

Defending the administration’s performance, Ogoriba scored Tinubu above 90 percent.

He highlighted massive infrastructure investments, specifically pointing to the unprecedented scale of the ongoing coastal road network project as a signature milestone.

Addressing concerns over the rising cost of living, the party chairman categorized the situation as a complex economic matter that came alongside positive financial offsets.

He stated that while commodity prices have risen, citizens also have access to more disposable income through increased wages and salary updates.

Furthermore, he linked an uptick in residential housing construction to heightened public investment capacity.

Ogoriba concluded by pointing to the financial benefits resulting from the removal of the fuel subsidy, which has significantly boosted the allocation of revenues distributed to state governments.

He noted that the President has directly challenged state governors to show accountability by demonstrating exactly how these additional funds are being utilized for the welfare of their citizens.
