The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commenced a Human Capital Development (HCD) Training Programme on Digitalization and Digital Technologies for 45 young Nigerians as part of efforts to build a skilled workforce for the nation’s oil and gas industry.
In a statement released on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday, the Board said the programme was launched at Four Points by Sheraton in Lekki, Lagos State, and is aimed at equipping participants with critical digital skills needed in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
The statement noted that the initiative reaffirms NCDMB’s commitment to developing Nigerian talent and preparing young people for emerging opportunities in the digital and energy sectors.
According to the statement, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, described the programme as a strategic investment in human capital and a critical step towards building competencies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Python Programming, and Cybersecurity.
Ogbe, who spoke through the General Manager, Human Capital Development, Mrs. Alexis Emelle, said the programme would help participants acquire globally relevant skills and industry exposure.
The Board stated that the training is being implemented in partnership with Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL).
According to NCDMB, the programme will run for 12 months, comprising six months of intensive classroom learning and six months of practical industry experience.
Participants were encouraged to remain focused throughout the training and take full advantage of the opportunity to earn certifications and gain hands-on experience.
The statement added that the initiative is part of NCDMB’s ongoing efforts to deepen Nigerian Content through strategic investments in capacity development and sustainable talent growth.
NCDMB said it remains committed to fostering a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting the growth and competitiveness of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
