Tamunosoye Karibi-George, a 26-year-old model who hails from Port Harcourt in Rivers State has won the Miss World Nigeria 2026 title on Saturday, May 6, 2026.
The fast rising model represented Bayelsa State and defeated 19 other finalists at the grand finale held at Balmoral Hall in the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
The competition whicb was theme “Pride, Power, and Purpose”, attracted personalities across Nigeria.
Organisers of the competition announced the result that night. Silverbird Group founder and former senator Ben Murray-Bruce made the official declaration and congratulated the new queen and highlighted her strong advocacy work.
Karibi-George runs the Beyond Labels initiative, which supports inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for children with special needs.
Murray-Bruce described her as a woman of purpose, poise, and passion. “We have a queen,” he said on X.
He called on Nigerians to back her as she prepares for the international stage.
Karibi-George will now represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The event will run from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
