The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has successfully conducted its primary elections for the State House of Assembly, with stakeholders commending the peaceful and orderly process across participating constituencies.
In Akuku-Toru Constituency, covering wards 10, 11, 12, and 13, the Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Major Jack, emerged victorious following as the primary was conducted through option A4 where delegates queued behind the candidate of their choice and were count by the returning officer, Ibim Briggs Mpakaboari.
Speaking to journalists after the exercise, Hon. Major Jack expressed appreciation to his constituents for their overwhelming support, attributing his victory to his track record in office.
He assured the people of continued quality representation and a sustained commitment to attracting more democratic dividends to the constituency.
He also acknowledged the support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nyesom Wike, reaffirming the constituency’s alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
He further urged residents to remain steadfast in their support for the APC in future elections.Addressing party strength in the area, Major Jack described the large turnout during the primaries as a reflection of the APC’s growing grassroots acceptance, noting that the party remains confident of victory in subsequent polls.
Also speaking, the APC Senatorial Vice Chairman, Engr. Ineye Jack, commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries, describing the process as transparent and reflective of the party’s strong grassroots structure.
He praised the leadership qualities and performance of Hon. Major Jack, citing infrastructural projects and other developmental strides as evidence of effective representation.
He also highlighted the unity within the party in the constituency, attributing it to collective leadership and stakeholder collaboration.
Observers at the primaries equally lauded the exercise, describing it as orderly, credible, and a demonstration of internal party democracy in Rivers State.
