Lekue Kenneth, the Rivers State Commissioner for the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, has urged his staff to take charge of their duties. During his first meeting with staff, he made this call and praised their efficiency as well as dedication to work, the state government said in a statement on Thursday.
Kenneth affirmed his dedication to working with the team to advance the State’s development goals. His most important contribution was the Learning Curve Theory, which suggests that repetition leads to increased efficiency and a decrease in production time due to experience.
Kenneth urged employees to utilise their extensive experience to improve efficiency and service quality. However, the Permanent Secretary, Imaonyani Ephraim-George, welcomed the Commissioner and said the staff was willing to work with him to take “the Ministry to a new level” in preparation for an official visit.

Ephraim-George implored staff to provide the Commissioner’s full cooperation, confident that his leadership would result in positive changes for the Ministry. Also, Tonye Okumgba on behalf of the staff thanked the Commissioner for his full cooperation with the staff.
Moreover, Bulo Ephabari Wali brought up the issues that Budget Officers face in carrying out their duties and requested assistance from the Commissioner.
Kenneth was among the five Commissioners confirmed by the State House of Assembly and then sworn in by Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of the state. The Port City News (TCPN) reported that when the governor swore in the commissioners, he charged them to serve the state with dedication and commitment.
