Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, on Monday received the management team of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) Company, led by its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Innocent Chukwuma, at the Government House.
The governor, in a statement posted on his Facebook page, said the visit focused on a proposed collaboration to establish a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion station in the state.
He said this move aligns with the global shift towards cleaner and renewable energy sources.
Diri, in his address, expressed his gratitude to Chief Chukwuma for choosing to invest in the state, assuring the Innoson Group of the government’s readiness to partner with them to make the project a success.
Highlighting the timeliness of the initiative, the governor noted that the world is transitioning to cleaner energy.
“Your coming is very timely, and I’m very sure that by next year, part of our budget that the Ministry of Transport must note is that, we must procure CNG buses to ease the cost of transportation in our state,” Diri stated.
He also welcomed the team on behalf of the “Assured Prosperity” government and the people of Bayelsa State.
