APC Commends Tinubu’s Inclusive Governance, Cites Equitable Project Distribution

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to inclusive governance, stating that his policies are fostering national unity.

In a statement released Tuesday, Lagos State APC Spokesman of the party, Seye Oladejo, said the President deserves broad support for his efforts to build a nation where all citizens feel “seen, heard, and valued,” regardless of their background.

Oladejo noted that Tinubu has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fairness and representation since taking office on May 29, 2023.

He rebuked “disillusioned opposition” for attempting to distort this narrative, highlighting what he called unprecedented inclusivity in appointments, gender balance, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.

The statement underscored the diverse nature of Tinubu’s cabinet, describing it as one of the most competent in Nigeria’s democratic history.

Oladejo said the cabinet equitably represents all six geopolitical zones and includes women in key policy-making roles, as well as people from historically marginalized communities.

He also pointed to the President’s willingness to appoint competent individuals from opposition parties and civil society, emphasizing that his leadership is focused on progress rather than partisanship.

The APC also highlighted the President’s efforts to empower the youth, noting that several individuals under 40 have been appointed to strategic roles, particularly in sectors like technology and the digital economy.

According to Oladejo, this move not only recognizes their capacity but also ensures the younger generation has a role in shaping the nation’s future.

In terms of project distribution, the party cited data showing that the Northwest geopolitical zone has been the biggest beneficiary of project approvals, with N5.97 trillion.

This is followed by the South-South with N2.41 trillion, North Central with N1.13 trillion, South West (excluding Lagos) with N604 billion, South East with N407 billion, and North East with N400 billion.

The statement detailed that the total length of legacy road projects currently under construction is nearly evenly split between the North (52%) and the South (48%).

These projects include the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway.

Oladejo stated that Tinubu has proven his critics wrong on religious balance by appointing both Christians and Muslims to sensitive positions and allocating resources equitably.

He stressed that this “secular-minded leadership” is a testament to the President’s commitment to a united Nigeria.
