The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Rivers State Command has announced the deployment of over 800 personnel, including Regular and Special Marshals, to ensure a safe and seamless Eid-El-Kabir celebration across the state. The operation, which commenced on Thursday, June 5th, and will run until June 11th, aims to minimize accidents and traffic congestion on the state’s highways.
According to the Sector Public Education Officer, the command has set up a Situation Room at its state headquarters to monitor activities in real-time and respond promptly to any incidents. The command will also be targeting various road safety offences, including over speeding, dangerous driving, and improper overtaking.

To ensure effective enforcement, the command has instructed unit commanders to collaborate with key stakeholders, including the military, police, and other security agencies. The FRSC has also partnered with other organizations, such as the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Fire Service, to provide support during the operation.
The command urges motorists to comply with road safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable festive period.
