A Nigerian pastor has criticised Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh following the launch of her new ministry, New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), in Abuja.
Dikeh recently unveiled the ministry, describing it as an interdenominational altar established for prayer, revival, spiritual training and the awakening of consecrated believers.
However, while speaking during a church service, the clergyman, who is the founder of Coga Ministries, questioned the actress’s knowledge and experience in spiritual matters.
He also raised concerns about the growing emergence of female general overseers, popularly known as “Mummy GOs,” claiming that their rise had contributed to women disrespecting their husbands.
Dikeh’s decision to establish a ministry comes amid her increasingly public Christian journey, which she has embraced since turning 40 last year.

Following her birthday celebration in June, the actress shared a photograph of herself taking Holy Communion, stating that she no longer takes alcoholic shots but now takes communion.
Earlier this year, Dikeh announced that she had dropped “King” from her name after using it for eight years. She said the decision was made in obedience to the Holy Spirit and God’s will, and asked people to address her as Evangelist Tonto Dikeh.
The actress has also spoken openly about her spiritual growth, including completing a discipleship class. She described her journey with God as the most healing, stretching, overwhelming, and beautiful experience of her life.
Dikeh has repeatedly used her social media platforms to encourage Christians to strengthen their prayer lives. In one of her posts, she urged people to open their hearts to receive miracles, explaining that she was praying for her life, destiny, child, and generation.
The mother of one had also shared her testimony about overcoming addiction and masturbation. She disclosed that she started smoking at the age of 13 under the influence of her father and continued for 27 years before breaking the addiction.
She further revealed that she had struggled with alcoholism and masturbation before embarking on what she described as a journey of healing and spiritual transformation.
