Gov Diri’s Supporters and Those Of Gov Sim’s Opposition Set Rally For 26th

The pro-Wike rally in the Bayelsa State capital, Yenagoa, initially planned to honor President Bola Tinubu and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has been postponed to Saturday, April 26, 2025.

The rally’s convener, George Turnah, announced the new date during a press conference in Yenagoa, citing two main reasons for the postponement.

Some notable Bayelsans impressed upon Turnah to shift the date to avoid potential loss of lives. Pro-Diri and pro-Tambuwal groups had planned rallies for the same venue and time, prompting Turnah’s group to defer.

The pro-Wike rally will now hold its inauguration and mega rally on April 26, 2025.

Interestingly, the pro-Diri and pro-Tambuwal rallies have also been postponed to the same date, April 26, 2025, which may lead to further developments.

Turnah believes President Tinubu’s success is intertwined with Nigeria’s success and thanked the leaders and members of the NEW Associates for their solidarity.

Turnah affirmed he remains the South South Zonal Secretary of the PDP and will follow legal procedures if served with a court summons regarding his suspension.

The situation remains fluid, with the potential for further conflicts or developments on April 26, 2025, when all three rallies are set to hold.
