A New Dawn for Rivers State: 20,000 Affordable Homes Project Takes Shape

Port Harcourt, Rivers State – Governor Siminalayi Fubara is making good on his promise to deliver a better life for Rivers people with the ambitious launch of a 20,000-unit affordable housing project in partnership with TAF Africa Global. This isn’t just about building houses; it’s about creating thriving communities where families can flourish.

Nestled in Mbodo-Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area, this project is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a vision for the future, a testament to Governor Fubara’s commitment to improving the lives of his people. This isn’t just about providing shelter; it’s about creating a sustainable living environment.

Imagine 7 kilometers of modern roads connecting every corner of the estate, ensuring smooth and convenient access for residents, complemented by 9 kilometers of well-designed drainage systems creating a clean and flood-free environment, and a 12-meter span bridge connecting key areas, facilitating easy movement and enhancing connectivity.

This project is a model for sustainable living. Eco-friendly bio-digester sewage tanks will ensure responsible waste management, while a 500-cubic meter elevated water storage tank and a robust water reticulation system will guarantee a consistent supply of clean water to every home.

And let’s not forget the power: 179 transformers, supported by a network of high-voltage poles and cables, will ensure reliable electricity supply to the entire estate. Moreover, solar-powered street lights will illuminate the community, enhancing safety and security for all residents.

This isn’t just about building houses; it’s about creating a vibrant, modern community where families can thrive. Governor Fubara’s vision goes beyond bricks and mortar; it’s about improving the quality of life for all Rivers people. From well-planned roads to eco-friendly waste management and reliable infrastructure, this project demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to creating a better future for the state.

The Mbodo-Aluu project is more than just housing; it’s a symbol of hope, a testament to the Governor’s dedication to his people.
