The Ugorji family has alleged that OSPAC, a vigilante group in Edu community, in Ogba/Ndoni/Egbema local government area (ONELGA), Rivers State, robbed and killed two siblings, Collins Ugorji, 33 years and Newman Ugorji, 28 years.

Wade Ugorji, Elder cousin to the two siblings in an interview with our Correspondent, narrated that since April 1, the two siblings were intercepted by OSPAC on their way back from a purchase the family is yet to see them.

“On April 1, 2024, the young men went to Edu community to make a purchase. OSPAC members intercepted them, robbed them of their money, and then unjustly accused them of being kidnappers before killing them.

“They also made away with their two Motorcycle and their bodies. Till now, their bodies have not been found.

“There was a rumor in the morning of the following day that OSPAC killed two kidnappers at Edu, some people who went there, saw the bodies and took some pictures.

“When the Edu indigene saw them, they said these guys are Chinem’s children, they are not kidnappers, we know them, that was when OSPAC took their bodies and went away.

“I do not know where they buried them. Again, OSPAC is still threatening to kill the elder brother of the siblings who went to report the matter to the Police station. One of the OSPAC members called him yesterday, threatening that they are going to kill him, the way they killed his brothers if he continues to pursue the case.

“We are calling on citizens of Nigeria, the Governor of Rivers State, the Deputy Governor who is from our area also calling on Eze Ogba,Ogba of Ogbaland, Chairman of ONELGA that they should bring these people to book.

“If it continues like this, who will be the next person they will kill again? So the extrajudicial killing must be put to an end, we are calling everyone to come, to make sure perpetrators of this evil are brought to book ”

The deceased siblings are from Oboburu in ONELGA

In the meantime, the Public Relations Officer of OSPAC, Godknows Nkem in an interview with Correspondent denied the accusation.

Nkem alleged that it was the deceased siblings and their gang who shot at OSPAC members at Edu community while claiming that one of the OSPAC members is currently receiving treatment.
