NDDC probe: PANDEF warns N’Delta youths to stop protesting

By Brave Dickson

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has warned youths of the Niger Delta Region to stop protesting over the ongoing probe in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by the House of Representatives.

In a chat with our correspondent, the National Publicity Secretary of PANDEF, Mr Ken Robinson said the protest is unnecessary.

“We as PANDEF don’t want any person or group to stage a protest regarding the financial mismanagement probe in the NDDC.

“Anybody who wants to express his or her displeasure over the NDDC saga should use existing protocols and extant laws rather than protesting.

“We are equally calling on the federal government to leave no stone unturned in its investigation and should punish anyone behind the diversion of funds meant for the NDDC.

“If what is happening in the NDDC were to be in the northern part of this country, you will not see people protesting.

“Nobody should use the heterogeneous nature of the Niger Delta Region to polarize us. Enough is enough.”

It will interest you to know that the Niger Delta Region has been under-developed despite the huge sum of money allocated to the NDDC for the development of the region.

Reactions from Niger Deltans over the ongoing probe have shown how unhappy the people of the region are as they are insisting that punishment be meted on those found guilty.
