EFCC vows to stamp out corruption from Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, South-South zonal office has called on Nigerians to join the fight against corruption.

Usman Iman, EFCC zonal head made this call on Friday during a road walk organized by the antigraft agency in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps, National Orientation Agency and various Civil Society Organization in Port Harcourt.

Imam said together with determination, the war against corruption will be won.

“Nigerians can build a functioning and effective institutions that can avail Nigeria to take her position within the committee of Nations,” he said.

He said the ten million man walk is targeted at the youths of the country to work against corruption which is a cankerworm and a hydra-headed monster that has delayed the country from taking its position within the committee of Nations.

Also, the Rivers State NYSC director, Mr Chiwendu Ogbonnaya Chukwu who was represented by Mrs Agulie Okoye Uzoamaka, said corp members are part of the leaders of tomorrow, and as such, are the change agents that will trigger off the possible change that is needed at a different corner of the country.

On his part, Barr. Young AyoTamuno, the Rivers State Director of National Orientation Agency, said the fight against corruption must be a collective fight, stating that “if Nigerians don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria”

A representative of Civil Society Organizations, Comrade Green Isaac said, “today absolute corruption corrupts absolutely. With the focus of the walk on enhancing the Nigeria youths as key drivers of whatever that can be termed as corruption, the youths must drive the campaign of the fight against corruption and together it will take all of us to come together and speak in one voice against corruption”
