Aliezi tasks youths on peace and unity in communities

Emohua local government chairman, Tom Aliezi has urged youths always to promote peace and unity at their respective communities.

He said that peace and unity are the basic requirements for national cohesion.

Speaking at Nigeria’s 59th independence anniversary celebration in Emohua Council secretariat on Tuesday, the council chairman urged parents to train their children to grow up with the fear of God to live a crime-free life and become better persons in the society.

He said that the future of Nigeria depends on the younger generation, and as such, it is essential for parents to invest in the younger generation through quality education and mentorship.

He advised students to restrict themselves to the reason why their parents sent them to school, which is to study, as becoming members of criminal organizations in schools can only lead to destruction.

The council chairman urged all Nigerians to pray for peace and unity in the country as the country is presently in a very trying period as it regards integration and security.

He commended the security agencies for the progress recorded in the ongoing war against insecurity in Emohua local government area and urged stakeholders at every opportunity to cooperate with the security agencies by providing useful information that could lead to the apprehension of criminal elements terrorizing their communities.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and Security in Emohua local government area, the council chairman said that the fact that peace and security have been restored at the Emohua axis of the East-West road wouldn’t in any way slow down the productiveness of his administration’s response to crime and criminality in the Area.

The 59th Independence celebration at Emohua Council secretariat featured march pass by students from different schools and voluntary organizations and presentation of gifts and awards to the council chairman.

Most prominent was the presentation of Honorary award of excellence in recognition of Hon Tom Aliezi’s contribution to student unionism by National Union of Ikwerre students.

The Vice-Chairman of the Council Hon Mrs Ngozi Nyemowu and the Deputy Leader of Emohua Legislative Assembly, Hon Bernard Odike and other principal officers of the council, as well as heads of different security agencies in the local government area, were also on ground at the independent day celebration.
